Creating With Purpose 🔍

Guest Blog by Jonathan Johnson:

Last week we talked about inspiration. It is God-given, and all around us. We must make the choice on whether or not we will use inspiration or let it pass us by. Inspiration will more often than not set you on the path to fulfilling your purpose. They are connected. But what exactly is purpose? How do we go about finding it and where does purpose have it’s place within creativity? I’m joined by my big bro, Sean today. Truly a blessing to call him family and I know his words will bless us. Sean the floor is yours:

Thanks man. I want to talk to y'all about the Holy Spirit. Let's look at what Jesus said in John 16:12-14 in The Passion Translation:

“There is so much more I would like to say to you, but it’s more than you can grasp at this moment. But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won’t speak on his own, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come. He will glorify me on the earth, for he will receive from me what is mine and reveal it to you.” (TPT)

There are some rich spiritual principles here. Jesus himself is basically saying "don't rely only on me, I have someone else on my team." See, that's tough to comprehend if you're too religious. We're often taught that all you need is Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Listen, Jesus is my Lord and Savior, but even he said there's more than him. That's why it's possible to be saved, go to heaven, but do absolutely nothing worth anything on the earth. It's possible to know who God is but still be boring and dry. A life without being frequently filled with the Holy Spirit is spiritual unseasoned chicken. Besides, Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God.

Jesus didn't fully walk into his purpose until Holy Spirit descended upon him. The apostles didn't fully walk into their purpose until Holy Spirit descended upon them at Pentecost. Holy Spirit was hovering above the waters in the opening of Genesis, and the next thing said is "let there be light" by Abba.

If you want purpose, fire, and light in your life, you need to be led by the Holy Spirit. He is the one who brings the power, the inheritance, the inspiration, the creativity, the direction, the comfort.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth that is already in you. God the Father wrote down your entire life before you were even born, then Jesus died for your life, and now the Holy Spirit is the one who brings your life together. Adam wasn't alive until God breathed His Spirit into him.

Yield to the Holy Spirit.

Wow. Thank you Sean, what a powerful message. He’s absolutely right. By surrendering to the Holy Spirit, we make our vessels open to His power. This power is what gives us the strength to create, because without the Holy Spirit, we cannot fulfill our purpose in life. I admonish you to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance and where He leads, follow. Your life was created with a purpose in mind. Allow Him to show you what that purpose is and guide you to and through it. I love you. I’m praying for you and be blessed!
